RC> SZ>The TCP/IP development kit and documentation is on the DevCon CD. RC> SZ>Other than that the sockets interface is similar to Berkeley Unix RC> SZ>sockets and somewhat similar to Winsock. I'd suggest a book RC> SZ>"Programming WINSOCK" by Arthur Dumas (SAMS Publishing 1995). It is RC> SZ>heavily Visual C++ oriented but the general information may be of use. RC> SZ>Or you can go with a Unix oriented text. That combined with the DevCon RC> SZ>provided information and the EMX docs should be enough to get you RC> SZ>started and experimenting. RC> RC> I recommend books on UNIX programming, they taught me almost everything RC> I needed to know about TCP/IP programming under OS/2. There are some very important differences in programming TCP/IP for unix and OS/2. The unix book is OK for the general concepts, but some aspects are different, most notably error handling and controlling blocking. Unfortunatly, I have been unable to find a descent book, in fact any book, that properly covers programming TCP/IP under OS/2. Read the docs that come on the DEVCON ROM carefully! this is difficult, since the IBM library reader vacumes so bad, but it is important.
