Hi, Holger;

 PW> Way to handy to have around. I've even got a textbook on powerplant

 HG> I agree. The only problem is that when we have passed away those
 HG> books will probably be found if at all, as landfill or be burned.

Hopefully whoever settles such an estate will be informed of the great
value of a collection like that, and will know enough to make sure that
it is preserved and put into the hands of someone who will appreciate it.
I do NOT recommend selling/donating them to a library, because they have a
nasty habit of throwing out books that don't get checked out after a
year or so. They would have a much better chance of long-term "survival"
in a private collection somewhere. It is for this reason that several
relatives, (especially designated executors), be informed of their value,
just in case...

 HG> None other than we radio amateurs see any value in them.

Mostly, however engineers and students might also have interest in them
as reference material. Perhaps a tech school library MAY have use for
them, but I would rather see them go to a private collection.
