The other thing is to try reflowing the solder joints from the SIMM
socket to the mother board if the board is really worth keeping.

Boston is a cakewalk compared to NY city. I didn't mind driving round
Boston, and I was based in the centre (next door to Mass Gen Hospital,
I've forgotten the name of the place. :-( I was in one of the tower
blocks, in a condo). In NY I was based near the JFK Airport for a
while - downtown Queens is _not_ fun... And I had to drive a mile or
so to get to the nearest Subway... I wouldn't fancy anyones chances
using a bicycle to get around in NY, it's too dangerous (except in
Central Park).
