The course I took was at a small private college, and was a
calculus-based physics course...though you really didn't need to know any
calculus to handle it just fine. The school was a place where most all
students came from rich families (except the occasional prof's kid, free
tuition being a job benefit) and saw med school as the only way to make as
much as their parents...causing a great many hopelessly-unqualified kids to
take premed courses including that one.
