SW>Hi
SW>Over here in England I'm picking up a signal in the middle of
SW>the aircraft band on 123.325 AM, Station identifies itself as Radio
SW>Deutch Nweller, at least thats how it sounds, broadcasting in English.
That sounds like "Deutch Welle" the German shortwave station.
SW>The announcer did give out various frequencies they transmit
SW>on, none in this frequency range.
They should all be in the shortwave band.
SW>The signal fades in and out just like a medium wave signal from
SW>the continent would, so I wonder if this is a spurious signal the
SW>scanner is picking up.
Sounds like it's being overwhelmed by a strong local signal, which is
possible, since Deutche Welle is pretty powerful. I don't have exact
figures close at hand, since I'm at work.
SW>The scanner I'm using is a AOR 1500 handheld using the whip aerial.
SW>Any suggestions
How long has it been going on? Is this new, or a long-term problem?
