No I haven't had the cover off. With my eyesight I don't dare. Years ago I
use to do some work on commercial ones. But no more! 
Since my Son's SSI check was cut by clinton, I dont stt any future in paying
for repairs on the radio. I'll just park it! {:~(
I've been off the air for over a month now and some in the area likes that!
