Thomas,,   I think this sounds like the infamous "Bath County, Ohio" books
named for the plase they come from.  These books are a fake, a misrepresention
of what they are.   They consist of a generic history of the family and pages
of addresses of everyone, still living  in the country.  Something you could
get yourself over the internet.  DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM and that is all it
is.
