ahh, something I can accurately answer. :-)

weather and temperature will vary but figure around the 50's, maybe 60's,
maybe 40's (depending on the day). Anywhere from rain to snow to pestilence
to full sun for weather (but then, that's any day of the year)
You going to be in Rochester or Buffalo or both?
Rochester there's three good spots, one on the east side of the city
(Fairport)
one downtown and one on the west side. My recommendation is either the east
side
or west side, as that's where the West Shore cuts off the main, and the
dispatcher
can really shaft you with putting stuff down the Shore. Both places are
easily
accessible from the expressway. On the west side (my hangout), take Rt 490
west to the Rt 259 exit, turn right onto 259, take the next left (I think
it's
Davis Rd), take that to the end (about 2 miles) to Attridge Rd, turn right
and go
to the tracks. On your left at the crossing is a decent sized parking area.
That's CP 382, and the West Shore will be off to the east on the other side
of
Attridge.
On the other end of town, again take 490 east to Rt 31F exit, go east into
the village of Fairport about 3 or 4 miles, to Rt 250, turn left, go up to
the tracks, cross (look both ways) and make your next immediate right.
Again there is a parking lot there where locals hang out, and right there
the West Shore and the main run together.

Buffalo is a bit harder, but not by much. Take I-90 to the Walden Ave exit
west,
go to Harlem Ave and turn right. You'll see the tracks by that time and
Harlem
goes over the main right at Frontier Yard. You can sit by the tracks there
and
watch the hump. Continue south on Harlem to William St, turn right and go to
Bailey Ave, turn left on Bailey, then turn right on Clinton St, then right
again
on Babcock St and you'll be at the yard throat to SK Yard, which is CP/D&H/
StL&H's yard.

What week are you going to be here, and for how long?
