So, you're saying you got my number, James?
I still get a kick out of all the fuss over these new fangled BBS's out
there, I think most of them are still trying to cache up to OPUS, and
probably most of them never will (other than the new OPUS, aka MAX...
NOPUS?). I can see a use for the correct modem speeds, and maybe an easy way
to set up multiple networks, but the graphics crap I still have no use for.
(I think of MAX as OPUS with OS/2 and REXX support)
Recently got the free AT&T internet account and the first thing I did was
turn off the graphics... yuck. I guess it would be OK with a 56k connection,
but give me OPUS anyday, other than being interconnected to every site on
earth, I'll take the grizzled Fido system. BTW, I have no clue what the hell
is going on with my internet stuff, everything I use is graphical, and makes
no sense. Addresses are a joke, passwords a joke. When I set up, one of the
pukey GUI apps wanted my password, but I had to put the encryped password in,
not the text... equivilant to what would be in a Unix shadow file for a
password... If I wanna FTP something, I get I funky GUI screen... give me the
command line and leave me alone, is the recurring theme...
