     Hi Lyle:
Just out of curiousity, does your friend reload his slugs or is
he using "store bought". I think 5-6" at 100 yds is very doable.
I use the bottom of a 3lb coffee can to make my 100 yd targets and
if it's not too windy, the reloads will put 3 in there with good
consistancy off a bench rest. I've found that with the "store bought"
fosters, the barrel leads up after only a couple of shots and the
accuracy seems to go down the tube pretty quickly. I never shot pins
with shotgun slugs, but it seems it would sure be fun. Were the slugs
you saw being made, used with sabots?
                               Take Care
                               Dave
