You have my condolances twice, as I will be there in JUST SEVEN MORE
DAYS!!! (oops, ).
Word is, GM wanted to design and build the ride, but to date hasn't met
Imagineering standards for realiability and safety.  I understand they
have decided to cut the electric power rail into 109 separate sections
so that they can bring the cars to a halt *before* they run into one
another.  Work on this is reported to have started this past week.
I suspect I will be flat out of luck, but there's a small chance that by
late October they may have a soft opening and let a few lucky guests in
from time to time.  Check at Epcot Guest Services each day you enter
that park and ask about your chances.
I can resign myself to life without the World of Motion, I liked it but
it's not a part of my religion.  OTOH, I'm really gonna miss "Da Boid
an' Da 'Bot"!
