Reminds me of an incident I saw when growing up. . .

On the street across from my bedroom window, a car hit the neighbour's
cat(killed it!)

I ran out to witness the excitement(ok, the gore, too -- I was 10!)

The driver was apologizing profusely to Mr. Gorson(the neighbour) but
Gorson was crying that it was his best friend, ever, and now she was
GONE!!!

The driver opened his wallet and offered Gorson $20.00, but Gorson said
she was worth FAR more than that to him.

The driver says, "It's just a lousy cat, man, I'm sorry, look I'll give
you $50, so you can get a decent one from the SPCA, but that's as high
as I can go."

Just before then a cop came up (Gorson had already phoned them, I
think!) and was listening to it all, then he arrested BOTH guys!

Any idea what charges?
