| subject: | Re: anti MS rant |
From: "Robert G Lewis"
Although he overstates it somewhat I find I agree with most of his points.
Right now it seems MS is trying to milk the consumer for all they can. I'm
one of those people who actually read and honor the license agreements. I
am beginning to reconsider as the terms are becoming more one sided and
support is becoming non-existent. I've almost given up on the free MS
resources as worse than useless.
When I install Linux on an old Compaq server I noticed it was well lets say
slow. Seemed to have a lot of disk IO. I thought it was paging so I did a
search on google. In less than 5 minutes I had the answer ( Compaq Bios
telling Linux it had 16 Meg of memory) and solution. I've never found any
answer from the MS sites that fast.
Although I'm not as privacy conscious as you are I do NOT want ANYONE going
through my machines. I do not want any changes made that I do not know
about and approve.
