Replying to a message of James Bradley to Bob Ackley: BA>> I have a second cousin (our grandparents were siblings) who is BA>> currently suffering from what appears to be a cancer in that area. BA>> He's five years younger than I am and has had it rough for the past BA>> several years - lost part of one leg to complications from diabetes, BA>> and had a kidney transplant to get him off dialysis a couple of BA>> years ago. The antirejection drugs make any sort of surgery dicey. BA>> Not sure what the actual situation is there, he's 1,800 miles away BA>> in CA. JB> I was told at the time, it was one of the rarer forms of cancer, and JB> one of the least deleterious on the books. I later found out, that JB> treatment whatsoever would be avoided. Maybe your second-cousin has a JB> tumor in other-than-fat tissue? My sister says he has a sqamous cell sarcoma in his hip and another one in his lung. Since squamous cells are skin cells neither tumor is supposed to be where it is. He had a squamous cell tumor removed from behind his ear a year or so ago, apparently it has spread. He seems to be doing OK, and will start chemo next week. --- FleetStreet 1.19+* Origin: Bob's Boneyard, Emerson, Iowa (1:300/3) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 34/999 90/1 120/228 123/500 140/1 222/2 226/0 249/303 250/306 SEEN-BY: 261/20 38 100 1381 1404 1406 1418 280/1027 320/119 393/68 396/45 SEEN-BY: 633/104 260 267 712/848 801/161 189 2222/700 2320/100 105 200 2905/0 @PATH: 300/3 14/5 140/1 261/38 633/260 267 |
