Replying to a message of James Bradley to Bob Ackley:

BA>> I have a second cousin (our grandparents were siblings) who is

BA>> He's five years younger than I am and has had it rough for the past
BA>> several years - lost part of one leg to complications from diabetes,

BA>> Not sure what the actual situation is there, he's 1,800 miles away
 BA>> in CA.

JB> I was told at the time, it was one of the rarer forms of cancer, and
JB> one of the least deleterious on the books. I later found out, that
JB> treatment whatsoever would be avoided. Maybe your second-cousin has a
 JB> tumor in other-than-fat tissue?

My sister says he has a sqamous cell sarcoma in his hip and another one in his
lung. Since squamous cells are skin cells neither tumor is supposed to be where
it is. He had a squamous cell tumor removed from behind his ear a year or so
ago, apparently it has spread. He seems to be doing OK, and will start chemo
next week.
