I've _walked_ across it faster than the traffic was moving...

Commiserations - if thats the right thing. I know what it's like...
I've been lucky though...
When I was on my bike (250 Honda) I've slowed down at roundabouts
because I thought the driver hadn't seen me, and he hadn't and would
have hit me if I had kept my original speed (I drove with headlights
on...). I've nearly had the same thing happen in my car, the other
(guy/gal?) drove straight past a "give way" and nearly got me. We
missed by inches...
