BW>And now to somehow tie this into GEOS. PARC (Xerox's Palo Alto
BW>Research Center) was the one's who created the GUI in the beginning
BW>(1971-72 era). Although Xerox's upper management didn't understand
BW>the importance of the GUI (personal computers were just starting to
BW>pop up) and they freely gave away their ideas to others. They even
BW>demoed the GUI to Steve Jobs and later to Apple's engineering staff.
BW>Ah... the GUI (Lisa and MAC) look and feel idea was born. Then came
BW>Amiga, GEOS, Windows, and OS/2.
Doesn't X Windows fit into here somewhere? It's an old but powerful GUI.
X has some awesome features. I mean, from ANY X machine you can telnet
into another UNIX machine and run an X program and have it display on
YOUR computer. Even if the other computer doesn't have X (about
equivilant to have GeoWrite (write.geo) but not the rest of GEOS).
