   I would too, as the system *is* the node and vice versa.

   People often confuse fidonet with some kind of social club that you
join. But it is nothing but a technical network; joining the network simply
means connecting to it, like when you plug in an Ethernet cable into a
network card.

   You simply have to use the OSI model to sort things out, and most will
become clear. :)
