BV> I've arranged a lunch on Monday and I told him that I'd pick him up
BV> at about 12-12:30. I hope you can make it. Let me know....
DM> No probs - I look forward to seeing you both. Wadda fancy for
DM> lunch ? There's Thai, Indian, Thai, Maccers, Thai, South
DM> African, Thai or a pub lunch.
DM> Did I mention Thai ??

I don't know what you are having, but Amfony and I are going to
Arizona's at Miranda.

DM> BTW, I have a question or four regarding batch files:
DM> 1) What does , (comma) do ? ie copy xxxxx, xxxxx\xxxxx

It's a delimiter and works the same as the space. I use it in batch
files and when typing long lines because it make it more readable to
_me_.

DM> 2) Where there are subroutines ie :end, can they be called from
DM> anywhere within the batch, or only at a stage preceeding that
DM> subroutine ?

You can call (goto) them from anywhere.

DM> 3) Are subroutines processed if the preceeding sub has no call ?

Ke ? Any and _ALL_ lines in a batch file are executed in sequence
when they are reached. IOW, unless you specifically jump over a line
it will be executed. That's why they have labels and goto's.

DM> 4) Relating to TPOINT Sendmail.bat, what does NoMerge supposed
DM> to do ?

I haven't looked at it since writing it, but from memory...
TPOINT looks to see if a previous mail run was aborted or failed.
If there is NEW mail to send and a previous invocation was not
completed then there will be a PKT file waiting to be sent. It knows
that it must merge the NEW mail (which is in QWK format) with the
PKT that is sitting in the TXFILES directory. In this instance it
merges the NEW and OLD files so that you end up with one file to
upload to your host. If there is no new mail or no old mail then it
doesn't have to merge the packets and it can simply process the
current stuff or leave the old PKT file there. the :NoMerge label is
simply a jump point if the two files don't need to be merged because
there is only one fail. Clear as mud now ?
