subject: Nodes or member of the FIDONET

Hello All!

Please, help us to explain Policy: what is the member of FIDO? Now in echo
R50.SYSOP have discussion about this question.

First case: member of FIDO is "a system" with sysop read and
agree the Policy and receive netmail minimum one hour per day, and
responsible by his outbound traffic (letters from sysop) and have no
different claims.

Second case: member of FIDO is "a node" - system who is
connecting different systems (that is to say - only systems with BBS, or
points, or links (for hubs), or gate to another networks, or other
communications), with sysop as case 1 (but traffic is letters from sysop
and points or users). In this case "node" is "bundle of
network".

Policy (4.07) use both expression "node" and "system"...

In first case not clearly purpose of ZMH - this sample imitated claim, and
may (must) to be remove. But for second case system must not only receive
netmail but to transfer it beyond (so systems without any downlinks must be
remove from nodelist)...

Vladimir Donskoy.
