JdB> Nope. There are development tools for PASCAL, FORTH, MODULA, PL/I,

Do you know anything about the SmallTalk? Is it a full implementation with
all the graphics and everything? I would like to learn about SmallTalk,
but I've never had the tools at hand to do it right.

Same way about Forth. Unfortunately, many Forth implementations seem to be
stuck in the 1970s. Finding a full-featured /modern/ Forth to play with
and learn about isn't easy.

I don't even know what Eiffel is, though I've heard the name somewhere before.

I am somewhat familiar with REXX, since I've used ARexx on the Amiga. It's
good for what it does, which is mainly scripts and hacking around with
text-based stuff where performance is not a concern.

A couple of my favorites on the Amiga have been E and Power LOGO. I think
E is strictly an Amiga phenomenon so far, though it was designed for
portability and I would *love* to see it spread to other platforms. It's
my favorite all-around language: superfast compiler, efficient execution,
highly readable syntax, OOP, etc.

As for Power LOGO, it's a much updated Logo with structured programming and
some LISP-like facilities. It's slow and limited in some ways (no direct
OS access), but a great fun language to play with and hack on. Great,
elegant syntax. Is there any form of Logo for OS/2? I would buy something
comparable to Power LOGO, but I don't care about some relic MIT-standard
Logo that only takes all caps.
