I am trying to identify this IC if anyone can help  I need pin-outs and a
data sheet with app data if possible. :-)

40-pin DIP IC on board; pulled from fancy RCA IR Remote Control with 74 buttons
(yep, counted 'em); 18 wires interfaced board/chip to buttons (just the board
now, no more buttons); surprisingly few supporting components: 1 Crystal, 2
Transistors, 6 Caps (3 Elec.), 1 Diode (Zener, I think) & 14 Resistors; all
contained on a 2" x 3" board.
