Not all the time. Before I switched to ISDN,  I did some x2 test with the USR 
BBS. I actually downloaded faster with a 24K v.34 connect than I did with a 
43K x2 connect. This was due to the constant retraining and resent blocks 
when using x2. That was the last straw for the analog lines I had and they 
were gone just as fast as I could switch to ISDN. Unfortunately, most people 
won't know how well x2/v.90 will work with their lines until they try it, and 
to try it, well.....:-)
