        Perhaps I wasn't clear. The algae is microscopic in nature. Instead

 creating clumps or strings when the algae grows, the bond between the cells
 breaks shortly after mitosis, creating new free floating cells. I do have
 three algae eaters, two black moors (wife's fish), and two upside down 
 catfish in the tank. None of these fish are over two inches in length.
... "Double tap" has nothing to do with draft beer or dancing.
