DD> What has the USA got to see that I cannot see elsewhere in this world DD> (other than a shitload of USAians)? For starters that "shitload of USAians". Sure enough you will encounter USAians that fit perfectly well into the stereotype that we usually think of: the greedy, arrogant type. But that's not at all typical, and if you remember that the poor bastards are forced to waste most of their hard earned money on military, oil barons and a few other, filthy rich, billionaires, you can probably understand why they have to struggle so hard to make a buck or two themselves. The majority of that "shitload" is the warmest and most generous people you will ever find in the world. Just walk into any bar and open your mouth, so that everyone can here you're a foreigner, and within minutes you will most certainly have made more lifelong friends than you've made in years in other parts of the world. And then there's the diversity of nature. From scenes that will make your tiny hairs curl, such as Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls, Yellowstone, the Everglades and so on, and so on, and even including some cities such as LA, SF, Miami and NYC, that are even more impressive than you can realize from the scenes you've seen on TV as well as the big screen. No, David, don't you judge the US by what you see from some hardheads in Fidonet, it's so much more. I don't think it's even possible to cover a fraction of a percentage of it, even in a fairly lengthy message like this one. You simply have to experience yourself, why the US has had such a huge attraction to people, all over the world, ever since it first was "invented" three or so millennia ago. -- FidoNet in your news reader: news://felten.dyndns.org For full access, register at: http://felten.dyndns.org/join.html ---* Origin: news://felten.dyndns.org (2:203/2) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 203/2 0 20/11 106/1 2000 633/267 |
