Hi, James! Recently you wrote in a message to Ardith Hinton:

AH> You are also the male head of a household. :-)

JB> *House* that *holds* my crap. Ya, that fits. B-)

Please, "house that holds my precious possessions"!
Crap is other people's stuff which the speaker doesn't have any immediate
use for.... :-))

JB> [re Monty Python]
JB> Once earlier episodes were rerun, I found it far
JB> more entertaining, but obviously I was more able
JB> to comprehend the juxtaposition of the humour.

Yes, maybe they ran out of ideas after awhile. Dallas & I
used to watch the show on Fridays after work. Since it was aired around
midnight, we were probably seeing reruns then. We saw a more recent
episode awhile ago... but it didn't seem as funny as what we remembered.

I reckon we've changed too. We were in a mood for something
silly on Friday nights in those days. Sometimes we watched Japanese horror
movies, just for laughs, because the special effects were so-o-o bad...
[chuckle].

JB> PBS ran a Best Of series just recently, so I've seen
JB> many skits of early episodes for the first time, as
JB> well as understanding more about the actors.

We enjoy a lot of other stuff these actors have done... so I
think you might enjoy the show more if you know more about the actors.

AH> When I was a teenager I thought it would be fun to
AH> learn Greek, but medical terms were not quite what
AH> I had in mind... [wry grin].

JB> "Who signed me up for *this?*"

           Uh-huh.... :-)

AH> [re bursitis]
AH> For example... it's caused by repetitive motion such
AH> as sorting letters into pigeonholes, or (in your case)
AH> maybe hammering nails.

JB> So wrong!

Okay. I recited the standard explanation, knowing such things
are usually simplistic & you'd be able to add some input.... ;-)

JB> Since dropping the pain killers, sleeping on my afflicted
JB> hip is my preferred position. The inflammation pain is a
JB> relief from the usual maladies, so I repeatedly irritate
JB> it willingly.

I hear you, but I'm not sure I approve... [wry grin].

AH> [re meditation]
AH> Yes, my response would be much the same.... :-)

JB> If they are blocking the kernel, plant a seed? B-)

Something like that, I guess! If a person is determined that
what you're telling them is all bunk, I'd suggest you back off & be
patient. I've done it in various situations... and as often as not, the
selfsame individual embraced the idea later on because (for example) their
doctor or their friend the nurse reiterated what I'd already said. I don't
get any credit, however, because they don't recall the conversation. Our
assignment may be to prepare the ground, so it will be ready for the kernel
on some future occasion. :-))
