called Chevy Candy......
I had a hot 259 Studebaker Hawk that could run with them on the highway
but that long wheelbase (120") sucker couldn't get off the line with 'em
and by second gear the 265's were almost outa sight!
The 265" Chev HT with a Carter WCFB and duals was the best running car
on the road at the time. Next best was that '49 '50 Olds coupe that
y'all were talking about last week. When that thing came out the Texas
Hiway Patrol was still running 48 Ford flatheads. Talk about a JOKE!
Still couldn't outrun that dang two way though.....
