On or about 09-02-09 15:20, Ardith Hinton allegedly uttered "Physio...
 1." to
James Bradley:

AH> Please, "house that holds my precious
AH> possessions"! Crap is other people's stuff which the
AH> speaker doesn't have any immediate use for.... :-))

I was co-addicted to auctions back in the day. I'm finding a lot of crap.

 JB> [re Monty Python]
JB> Once earlier episodes were rerun, I found it far
JB> more entertaining, but obviously I was more able
JB> to comprehend the juxtaposition of the humour.

AH> Yes, maybe they ran out of ideas after awhile.

That was the consensus as parlayed by the boys in a few interviews.

AH> Dallas & I used to watch the show on Fridays after work.
AH> Since it was aired around midnight, we were probably seeing
AH> reruns then. We saw a more recent episode awhile ago...
AH> but it didn't seem as funny as what we remembered.

I haven't a clue how syndication works, but I think a program has to air
x-number of episodes before it is shopped out to other countries. Besides that,
I didn't see episode one until late in their run. Lately, I caught a glimpse of
a B+W skit that *was* uproarious; where those many years ago, I couldn't
understand what all the hype was about. (How's the punctuation? }B-)

AH> I reckon we've changed too. We were in a mood for something
AH> silly on Friday nights in those days. Sometimes we watched
AH> Japanese horror movies, just for laughs, because the
AH> special effects were so-o-o bad... [chuckle].

Things like those movies, are often more entertaining with a room full of
"actors" to replace the sound track. It usually improves the audio::video
synchronization. (How's the "::=proportional to" liberty? }B-)

AH> We enjoy a lot of other stuff these actors have
AH> done... so I think you might enjoy the show more if you
AH> know more about the actors.

It was rather revealing, and a great insight to see how the actors viewed what
they were up to in those days.

AH> When I was a teenager I thought it would be fun to
AH> learn Greek, but medical terms were not quite what
AH> I had in mind... [wry grin].

JB> "Who signed me up for *this?*"

 AH> Uh-huh.... :-)

I just viewed an interview with a vet who was quoted as saying, " I volunteered
for this?" Naturally, I thought about this exchange.

 AH> [re bursitis]
 JB> So wrong!

AH> Okay. I recited the standard explanation,
AH> knowing such things are usually simplistic & you'd be able
AH> to add some input.... ;-)

... And so contrary to what you know about the boots I'm likely to die in?

JB> Since dropping the pain killers, sleeping on my afflicted
JB> hip is my preferred position. The inflammation pain is a
JB> relief from the usual maladies, so I repeatedly irritate
 JB> it willingly.

AH> I hear you, but I'm not sure I approve... [wry grin].

I doubt my MD does either, but he does know what I'm up to.

 AH> [re meditation]
JB> If they are blocking the kernel, plant a seed? B-)

AH> Something like that, I guess! If a person is determined
AH> that what you're telling them is all bunk, I'd suggest you back off &
AH> be patient. I've done it in various situations... and as
AH> often as not, the selfsame individual embraced the idea
AH> later on because (for example) their doctor or their friend
AH> the nurse reiterated what I'd already said. I don't get
AH> any credit, however, because they don't recall the
AH> conversation. Our assignment may be to prepare the ground,
AH> so it will be ready for the kernel on some future occasion.
 AH> :-))

Prepare the bed? Ya, that works too! Funny, it *was* an RN that was
trying to teach a group of seniors when the nay-sayer said what many - I
suspect -were thinking. I guess I took the opportunity to speak up and
broadcast the seed I had in hand in the hopes there was fertile ground in
better climes. It was an opportunity when I knew there was hostile attitudes,
but more for the rest of the group - I didn't want them to be swayed by one
person who only thought self-improvement was bottled by a guy named Smirnoff.
