Be my guest.  That's exactly why I put them out there in the first place.
Historically, I evolved those conventions when I worked for a full year as 
part of a 3-person Foxpro development team.  You wouldn't BELIEVE how many 
problems we originally had because of variable naming/scoping conflicts when 
we put our separately developed modules together...
