KP> Has anyone gotten the WAD2MAP program to work? I've tried it multiple
KP> times and it has not worked once. Everytime I use it, it says: "Could
KP> not Find XXXXX.wad". Even when I give the full path and file name to
I got it to work, although it didn't work as it said it would in the
DMBUILD.TXT file. That file claimed that if I used a command line like:

 E:\>wad2map c:\games\doom2\doom2.wad e1m5

It would create e1m5 using the Doom textures. What I got was transparent
walls, no doors, one type of enemy sprite and a ton of generator and rubble
sprites. Most of the walls were the shareware level's end boss sprite, and
the floors were a nuke symbol. Before I realized that the KENBUILD.TXT
script file was actually named DUKE.TXT, I had gone through and just deleted
all the sprites and changed the textures to the default one.
Perhaps it doesn't work because I tried it on DOOM 2, although it claims
that works too. BTW, I was running it off of an Iomega Zip drive.
KP> p.s. Damn, those Fat Commanders are scary SOB's aren't they?

Yeah. But the enemies in Duke need better names. Especially the boss
actors. BOSS1, BOSS2, etc. just don't cut it compared to Pain Elemental,
Lost Soul, CyberDemon, etc.. I mean, just what do you call the thing
that you fight in the Stadium level?
