AH> Hmm. It certainly sounds as if you're better off now! The

"Say hello to the new boss."

AH> only time I've had a drug which obviously affected my
AH> mental/emotional state was prior to surgery... a shot of
AH> demerol. While some people love the stuff, I hated it. I
AH> couldn't keep track of my thoughts & found that very
 AH> frustrating... [wry grin].

I can't keep track of my lunch on Demerol. They usually stick you with
enough Gravol to counteract that, but I was so busy quelling my diaphragm
to think of anything else. I guess it *was* an effective pain reliever.

 JB> [...] too much information. [-;

AH> I hear you. Although I examined Nora's blood counts in
AH> detail at the time she was in treatment for leukemia & made sure I
AH> understood what all of the words & numbers signified, I
AH> would have reached information overload a lot more quickly

...And you have a background in it!

AH> under normal circumstances. As for pronunciation... I
AH> studied Latin in high school. I'm convinced medical
AH> professionals use a subtly different system of phonics, so
AH> they know who does or doesn't belong among the "in" crowd.
 AH> :-))

Does the placement of an accent differ from the expected norm, or are they
sounding phonetics with derivations never heard by us mortals? Still, it's
an economic way to souse another practitioners familiarity with a topic. I
can not find fault with that practice.

JB> How people like yourself deals with patent care, while

AH> Uh-huh. You do what you have to do. I've heard stories
AH> about... for example... some gal (who weighs 98 lbs. soaking wet)
AH> lifting a car when her son is trapped underneath. Under
AH> ordinary circumstances she wouldn't be able to do that, nor
AH> would she need to. But if scrubbing the mission is not an
AH> acceptable option & she can't lay hands on a jack or obtain
AH> help within a reasonable time, what other choice is there??
AH> I heard not long ago that I may have been lifting Nora
AH> with a dislocated shoulder. In retrospect, I was quite
 AH> astounded as well.
 > ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I knew you could come around to patting yourself on the back.

About mom being able to lift a vehicle *off* her son, the best I have seen
on TV, is a mom lifting a car fender enough to relieve the pressure a car
was exerting on her son, who stuck his torso between the tire and
wheel-well. She had to wait for reinforcements to pull him out. It was a
vintage Chevy, and it was the front where the V8 goes. (That's the engine
V8, not the vegetable drink. B-) Again, being some time ago... But I recall
them mentioning the dead weight of the engine alone, is heavy enough to
shatter her femur. Then adding the transmission, steering and suspension
systems, fender and body work...

AH> "Remember that the mighty oak was once a nut like you"...
 AH> [D&RFC].

[Influenza recovery]
JB> My gauge has been, when I forget how it feels to be
JB> 'normal', I'm at the cusp of feeling better.

 AH> Okay. I can relate.... :-)

Or, as I teased with the neighbour kid, "The best way to get rid of
your cold, is to give it to someone else."

JB> This is what has me in awe.

AH> Thankyou. A lot of people have no idea... (sigh).

Send me names and numbers. I'll give 'em a talkin' to.

... James
