PF> Q12. The back of the newsletter says "For CompuServe
PF> membership information, call........ You will receive a special
PF> introductory membership for IBM customers".
PF> What does the special introductory offer include?

PF> A12. The special introductory offer includes:
PF> - A brochure with an ID and password
PF> - 1 month of basic services for free
 PF> - $15 of free extended services
PF> - free subscription to CompuServe magazine

PF> To obtain a CompuServe ID, or just to inquire about membership,
PF> call one of the following numbers depending on where you are
PF> located, ask for Representative 239:
 PF> From the United Kingdom call 0800 289 378
 PF> From Germany call 0130 37 32
 PF> From other countries in Europe call (+44) (+272) 255 111
PF> From the US call 1-800-524-3388
PF> From elsewhere call 1-614-457-0802 (direct to the US)

BUT YOU MUST HAVE A CREDIT CARD. I don't, so no compuserve for me.

PF> Q14. Is there any other electronic support for The Developer
 PF> Connection for OS/2?

PF> A14. Yes, IBM has established the DEVCON CFORUM on the OS/2 BBS
 PF> under TalkLink
You can also use the DAP BBS local to you, unless they have axed it.

PF> Support is also available thru the Internet by addressing your
PF> questions and comments to devcon{at}vnet.ibm.com.

But FTN is much more acceptable to many companies in the UK, and probably
elseware.

It is not unusual in the UK for developers to not be alowed to make outgoing
*phone calls* without permission, being able to call a BBS and read stuff
offline is HIGH PRIVIlEDGE. Live internet calls - don't even think about
it the phone bills would drag the company under. Plus anyone with
haf a brain is worried about security on internet, and that Includes
the IBM DAP Program!

Tell those at the top ... FTN IS the answer, internet is NO substitute.

Andrew
