subject: RE: CABLE TV CHANNELS

HI
We here in MacArthur, West Virginia had a simular problem with cable chanel
17 and 18.
The source turned out to be unterminiated stub and a neighbor was running his
three TV's fron a twin lead attached to one cable entry.
We were going to tone squelch the 147.36mcs. machine here but that would be
shutting out a lt of hams . So as
HAMS we pressured the cable co to CXLEAN UP! or be down! This company here
also won't let public access, religious access, or government access onto the
channels. That is illeagle as per fed regs!
Any way the local scanner users here is pleased.
Now to another problem that rose up!
Scaner causing interferencr on two meters!
When a scanner is programed to 155.925 - 156.00 mcs. it would put
pop...pop...pop...pop..... Well any way it froze up the repeater till it
timed out!
The owner refuses to do any thing about it, ie filters, coax length changes!
Any suggestions? Have yet to hear from either FCC or ARRL!
