PE> I'll pay you $150 for a copy of Wizard of Wor that works on the PE> Amiga, and is EXACTLY the same as the Commodore 64 version except PE> that the Amiga's capabilities are exploited more so that the PE> grooblies look nicer. BV> Why the fuck would I want to write games for a dead machine Paul ? PE> Can't you write it in a portable manner so that on the Amiga it PE> uses the sprites etc, but on the PC it uses routines to emulate PE> sprites? I guess so. But, I'm not going to. The only portable part would be the logic engine. The rest of it would have to be machine specific and as that is where mot of the code is, I can't see why you would bother nowadays. The PC market is large enough that you really wouldn't need to bother with anything else. The only exception to that would be the Nintendo or Sega platforms, but even that would be questionable as they have quite high setup costs and getting the info on them is difficult. Not to mention the marketing costs. BV> I can't say that I've ever seen Wizard of War. Is there a C=64 BV> emulator that will run on a PC ? If you there is, can you attach it PE> There is, but I don't have it. I have one on my BBS, but I didn't PE> manage to get it to work. Anyone else? Fair'nuff. If you do find one that works, send it to me. BV> Just out of curiosity, is WoW a flat 2-D game like PacMan, Space PE> Yep, just like PacMan except you get to shoot the grooblies as PE> well. I thought it may have been. Most if not all of the really good games have been flat 2D maze games. Sure there are some exceptions, but the old style still has a lot of life left in it. PE> I prefer the simple shoot-the-grooblies type games. After WOW, PE> my next favourite game is Space Invaders, then PacMan. I also PE> like playing a real pinball machine at the parlour, but I'm not PE> very good at that. However, it is not a good idea to extrapolate PE> the world's views from ANY opinion of mine, in case you haven't PE> worked that out yet! :) 'salright Paul. Believe it or not, I think you are amongst the majority on that one. PE> Someone else also told me that WOW was their favourite game. PE> I have about 4 copies of it on cartridge, which I got from PE> Computer Bazaar in Chatswood. They sell C64's for about $50!!! PE> The cartridges only cost $1 each or something. I wonder if I'm PE> the only person who would buy 4 cartridges of the same thing?! Probably :) PE> Anyway, if I ever manage to get a C64 emulator, I'll PE> attach it to you with WOW. BFN. Tanks, I hope to see it one day. Regards, Brenton @EOT: ---* Origin: TestPoint (3:711/934.7) SEEN-BY: 711/934 @PATH: 711/934 |
