| subject: | Release 2.0 |
Hi, This release has the "big" version jump to 2.0, because all the three modules are now compiled with the MingW32 windows compiler. MingW32 is in their own words: 'MinGW, a contraction of "Minimalist GNU for Windows", is a minimalist development environment for native Microsoft Windows applications.' It's a modern free compiler, derived from the gnu c compiler, which is more or less the standard compiler on Linux. As my development environment I'm using Code::Blocks http://www.codeblocks.org/>. I think this is a big step, hence the version jump, and an important move towards Linux compatibility. We are not there yet, but it's next on my agenda. Besides the MingW compatibility of the source code, the main new features are: - 'Say Hi to the author' function in the FConfig 'Miscellaneous' menu. Please use this to let me know you are out there! - Using the FTSCPROD.nnn files, as published by the ftsc, for translating the product code in pkt files to product names in the log, instead of the internal table. - BCL reports: On receipt of a BCL file from one of your links, a report netmail with either the full content of the BCL file, or the changes since the last one can be generated. - Inbound and outbound .pkt file backups. - Lots of other small features and bug fixes, which you can read about in the ChangeLog file. A warning: If you are not using Binkd as your mailer, or one of the other mailers that use a Binkley Style Outbound: The other outbound styles are not very well tested, for this MingW32 release, because I and the other test node only use Binkd. So if you are a user of an other mailer, I'm very much interested in your experience with this version of FMail, so please let me know! (You could use the new "Say Hi" function for this ;)) Bye, Wilfred. --- FMail-W32 2.0.0.0* Origin: Native IPv6 connectable node (2:280/464) SEEN-BY: 103/705 154/10 203/0 227/51 229/426 240/5832 249/303 261/38 280/464 SEEN-BY: 280/5003 5555 292/624 854 310/31 423/120 633/0 267 280 281 412 SEEN-BY: 640/384 712/848 770/1 2320/100 5075/35 @PATH: 280/464 712/848 633/280 267 |
