EH>-> How is your little dove? I have a flight, about 4X4X6(or8) ft that
EH>He's doing wonderfully! Such a friendly pleasant little booger! Not a
EH>mental giant, but ever so peaceful! Just what my ragged nerves
EH>need in the mornings.... I love Amazons, but LORD! I can do without
EH>the racket!
I like the way the doves "laugh"!
Hey quail are even less intelligent!
EH>Well, they aint real SMART! Mine is systematically destroying the nice
EH>pre-built nest I made him. Just doesn't suit his design parameters....
EH>Doves build such 'nice' nests don'tcha know?
Mine would either crap in a standard keet or tiel wooden nestbox or
would put a few sticks in a dogfood bowl.
EH>BTW, how does a Yellow Crown relate to a DYH? I don't remember ever
EH>knowing a YC? I'm sure he is gonna be a smarty though.... All those
A YCA is one of the big three yellow headed amazons. There are DYHA's
which are just now being classed seperately from other Amazona
Ochrocephalas, and I think now the Tres Marias are being thought of as a
seperate thing altogether now.
Then there are the Yellow Napes and the Yellow Crowns. The YCA"s may
also be called Yellow Fronted. They look much like a nape. Some napes
have a yellow patch at their forehead and on the back of their nape. The
YCA's have the small patch at their forehead but none at their nape.
EH>Yellow headed types seem to be. The INS auction had some Yellow
Naped EH>that were smart as the dickens. One of them stole my pencil
This YCA baby is very smart and is already talking.
EH>Heck, just keep him and ENJOY! Life's too short to trade enjoyment for
EH>mere money. (Bad as I could USE $ome.)
Me too...
You can never get enough birds or money....
