Hi Sean,
This is my last UpDate to "Kermit on TeleGard" of October 20:
SD> ...internal variables... ...happy to send you MCI.REF...
MS> ...time to get a glimpse... ...stay tuned for more UpDates!...
MS> What i need to know, right now, is: 1) how long the command-line
MS> can be in a .PDF; 2) can the internal variables... ...such as
MS> "~CP"... ...be read as DOS environment variables; 3) how much
MS> memory `MS-Kermit' and `C-Kermit' are using. I hope that's enough
MS> information to play with `Kermit'... ...keep me informed...
I've found a newer `C-Kermit' 16-Bits version on Pete Norloff's BBS
at telnet://bbs.os2bbs.com/ (an `OS/2' system, by the way)! It's called
`C-Kermit 5A(190)' and it dates back to November 16, 1994; get it here:
ftp://kermit.columbia.edu/kermit/archives/cko190.zip (790 Kb)
This is the LAST release with a 16-Bits `OS/2' version included. I
noticed some improvements like the "ReSend" feature (which would support
Transfer Recovery), the passing of `OS/2' File Attributes and the ~REXX~
interface. This version won't execute in a `W32' DOS windows at all, it
was IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME TO DETERMINE IF CONNECTION SPEED HAS BEEN IMPROVED
as well. What i can say is that the command-line is very different from
that of `MS-Kermit', i only see good reasons to pick `MS-Kermit' instead
of `C-Kermit' but i done no test with a `OS/2' environment, much less on
`TeleGard/2'! That's about all i can tell under such conditions, sorry.
Salutations, ;-)
