BL> The short answer is no. I don't know.

Just get him to make you a DLL with the MKS$ function and whatever
else you need. The Windoze version of VB can not have any sort of
inline ASM or other stuff like the older QB where you could hand
assemble a small snippet (or a large chunk if you were an idiot) of
ASM code, place the HEX dump in an array and then jump to the
address of the array. I guess it was all very nice stuff if you
needed it, but you can't do anything like that with VB for Win.

Actually, in all seriousness. I've been thinking about a few things
lately and I reckon I've got the ideal use for Franks talents.
Having seen the gusto and enthusiasim he employed when jumping into
Krazy Keno, not to mention the craftwork he produced. I'm starting
to think that some games could be the go. As you know, I've given up
on writing broad-based commercial software. It is near impossible to
compete with companies like Mikey$oft because if you can really make
some money with it they will produce something which is half-arsed
and bug-ridden but they give it away for free just to piss you off.

Writing application software has got knobs on it. No matter what you
do it's not good enough or you charge to much and you end up looking
after dickheads that shouldn't be in business anyway and will shaft
you the first chance they get. Sure, you can make some money out of
it and I've made a decent living out of it for a while, but even
that market will eventually die or become to much pain for very
little gain.

Meanwhile, the game market just keep getting bigger and has much
more scope. If it don't work on one dickheads machine then you tell
them to piss off or to upgrade their crap. Much easier and good fun
too. Whadaya reckon. Wanna chat about it elsewhere ?

Regards, Brenton
