That wouldn't make it necessarily happen faster as I explained to Paul.

What would be the least amount of work is use the windows configuration
program for linux too, as an intermediate solution. Than I would only have
to change it, to accept linux pathnames as valid. You would just have to
use wine or a virtual windows machine to run it...
