This is wandering off-topic I guess, but you may be able to find out why
it's not working using truss (which is similar to strace found in Linux and
Cygwin), which gives you a list of some common system calls, parameters
used by the application and return values. It works on both FreeBSD and
Linux binaries (and presumably SystemV binaries too).
That's assuming IREX isn't segfaulting (which is presumably something the
IREX author should be told about), the cause of which may be harder to
track down.
