From what I can tell of the opinions of mathematicians & computer
programmers, random numbers are not what they usta be. We see an
awful lot of patterns in one with enough digits in it. There are
some theories which suggest how difficult it is to design a truly
-random- number.
The idea that a monkey at the keyboard will -eventually- type out
Shakespeare given enough time, seems to be irrefutable; yet those
who argue for a creating god based on the -order- they see around
us dismiss the trillions of eons that Chaos has had to develop by
now, into what -appears- to be, a holy plan.
There is a view that God himself did *not* make the universe, but
that the universe made God, as well as us. Again, there has been
enough time for Her to evolve before, and with us. This has some
benefit- namely that the disaster we see wasn't created by god if
god did not create the world, but evolved with it.
Even the Great Olympic Gods had to contend with the Murphy's laws
in their plans. The atheist may argue that there is no god, but:
I haven't seen any so foolish as to say that shit doesn't happen.
I don't argue that god is behind the shit, but- that Her presence
impacts the nature of randomness, and there ain't no free lunch.
