Fancy hens? Because any regular hens are worn-out layers (for egg
factory purposes) and usually go to soup factories. I have had some in
the past - you have to force moult them and give them a very good diet
to start getting decent numbers of decent eggs. And keep a rooster if
you can - fertile eggs have decreased (supposedly) cholesterol levels
over unfertilized eggs and are better for you.
That reminds me - I have to get a Muscovy drake soon, or the girls may
as well lay and try to hatch doorknobs. :-)
