DH> In November of 1993, our 21-year-old daughter, who seemed quite
DH> healthy as of that summer, died of this disease.
Most sad. My condolences.
DH> (We do not blame the doctor, even though several people suggested that
DH> we sue for malpractice, since he didn't recognize the disease. That is
DH> nonsense. He is human, like all of us. His knowledge is finite. We
DH> have been led to understand that there are only about 25 cases a year
DH> in the U.S.. He had never seen a case and the hospital had never seen
DH> a case. How can we blame him?)
You are a reasonable man. Prudent, too, since it is almost certain you
couldn't win such a case. I've never heard of this disease. Can you
tell us what it looks like? Again, my sympathies.
