RM> MS>Excessive drinking is just one of many reasons why college
RM> MS>profs face at least as serious discipline problems as their
RM> MS>K-12 counterparts...
RM>
RM> RM> This statement is just silly... A "discipline problem" is
RM> RM> something along the lines of disrupting class, physical
RM> RM> violence, profanity, etc...
RM>
RM> Sophistry... Stuff that is lumped as "disciplinary" by
RM> administration does not always constitute "disciplinary
RM> problems" for a teacher. Tardiness is a disciplinary
RM> problem for a teacher, but cutting or absenteeism is a
RM> disciplinary problem for administrators...
Even if you want to say _profs_ don't face the discipline problems on
college campuses that excessive drinking and excessive drug use causes,
somebody sure faces them. Talk to any campus-police officer about it, and
ask him what percentage of vandalism, date rape, rape, and assault by
students that he deals with involve intoxication!
