-> Thank you so much for the two squares I received today! I was in awe
-> at the one you did with all the rings in the middle. I have seen some
-> patterns for something similar to these and had been wanting to do
-> some of these..
You're welcome! The rings one is actually a very easy pattern, the most
difficult part is having to keep all the rings with the right side
facing and then interconnecting the first and last ring.
-> I also appreciate you sending the pattern for the other one! This is
-> such a neat idea. I should have asked for anything but the
-> traditional and asked for the pattern to be sent with the square.
No problem, glad you liked the pattern! To me there are so many pluses
to that pattern, that it seems to be a perfect thing to work on.
They are granny squares but since each square measures 15 1/2 inches,
you only have to make 12 squares to get a 49 1/2" X 65" afghan. The way
the popcorns are incorporated into the square makes it look like there
are four squares each with an outline of a heart inside. No color
changes, and only have to sew the 12 squares together even though it
looks like there are some 48 smaller squares.
The square that I sent you is only the first 5 rows out of the actual 13
rows that the full squares calls for and then I added a row of DC to
make it 6".
I would have sent the patterns for the first two white squares but they
come from a Leisure Arts leaflets. That's why I included the source in
case you wanted to see if you could locate them.
-> Count 'em ! ! )9( squares! I'm so excited! Course I'll need a fewe
-> few more to make up a total of 36 squares, 18 white and 18 blue, but
-> that is a good start!
It's really nice for you that the participation is picking up!
