MD> movie. After I check out Dark City, I'll be looking forward to a
MD> Superman movie.
ST> You've GOT to be kidding!! I can't think of ANYBODY less suitable for
ST> the role of Superman than Nicholas Cage!!???!! That is, unless you want
ST> to get either Nathan Lane or Dennis Hopper to do it.
There is something about Nicholas Cage's face that doesn't say Superman
to me. It's not necessarily the hairline, since there is a thing
called a toupee.
I find Cage to be an excellent actor, so that's not an issue either.
And he doesn't have a good physique.
For me, I think he looks a bit old. As he's aged, his face has developed
a bit of a droop to it. I think he'd have been absolutely perfect if he
was offered the role ages ago. I saw a bit of a movie where he played
a Navy Seal (I think). He certainly had the look and a physique that
would have been great for the role. He wasn't necessarily muscled up,
but he looked like somebody who's physically active.
The face is really a minor thing. I'm sure he can put on a performance
that would make almost anyone overlook it. But that's also assuming the
studio can come up with good script for the project.
ST> How about Kyle McLachlan??
He has that heroic jawline. I'm not always thrilled with his acting.
It might be a matter of getting the right director to get a good perforance
out of him.
ST> Or Kevin Costner??
No.
ST> One of the Baldwin brothers??
Cage is a bigger name and better actor than most of the bros.
