subject: Kermit on TeleGard

Hi Scott,

About "Kermit on TeleGard" of November 1:

SA> TG allows PDFs aka Protocol Definition Files to be imported with
SA> just one key stroke. Its that easy. There are also FAQs.
MS> Thanks for your input. It's good to know that our .PDF can be
MS> that easy to install once we have created it...
SA> The protocol packages helped out and little did one realize they
SA> also help out on modem defs as well for init strings over the years.

Too late... I could have used help to get the right initialization
string for an external MoDem my uncle brought over here, a week ago, but
`Win 2K' found it and i collected the whole setup once it was connected!

                                  :^)

SA> ...I assume from above your not running TG.
MS> My attempts to install `TeleGard' failed miserably, i'm afraid...
SA> Why? In what regards?

I didn't figure out what was supposed to happen of the setup files,
then i received information i needed from my correspondant... hence, it
wasn't necessary to consider the installation of BBS SoftWare, lucky me!

                                  %-)

No ~TelNet~ test would be possible, in any case: i only have `VSPD
XP v4' which is a Virtual Null-MoDem Cable. Testing `SIO'/`VMoDem' just
isn't possible, unless the author cared to produce a `Win 32' version...

                                  %-o

SA> Watch it, that evil moderator has that rule that long sigs aren't
SA> allowed... but I'm sure hes not watching. As if rule enforcement
SA> needs to be done in this day and age.

I'm the old type, it does. But i made him busy so let him ask 1st!

                                  ;->

                                    Salutations,

                                    Michel Samson
