| subject: | 80x30 text sceen mode |
hi Jim,
JL> ! Anyone know how to switch into 80x30 line mode, similar to how
JL> the program Jmode changes the screen into this mode? Its a high res
JL> mode, because it switches the monitor into graphics mode.
"mode 80,30" doesn't work? Some weeks ago I posted the source of
my Viox utility (which lets you poke any number at VioSetMode and see what
happens) here, and "jmode&viox -q" (undocumented switch to
query current state;-) gives:
-m1,4,80,30,640,480
-f(8x16)
-b0
meaning Jmode sets a text mode with a lower resolution and a somewhat
smaller font then Mode co80,25. Me, I prefer 80x34 at 720x480 (9x14 soft
font) and 132x28 at 1052x400 (8x14 font) :-) Pity OS/2 supports the Tseng
ET4000's high res text mode (100x40 at 800x600) only in DOS boxes...
regards,
hugo
