Salut !
Sorry, Hi !
KW> KW>i almost got that - the meaning of dois-je escapes me though.... at
KW> AG> How can I do is a good translation. :)
KW>ah, ok thanks...
You're welcome. :)
KW>what can you do to see if an exe file contains a real virus - execute it
KW>on a test system and see if it infects other files... then reboot that
KW>system from a clean boot disk and execute one of those supposedly newly
KW>infected files and see if that infects any more files...
If I could have a system like that, just to running possibly
infected item on it, I would. It's not possible for now.
KW>and using scanners that perform exact identification can also cut the
KW>false alarm rate...
It's why I have 4 scanners here. ;)
KW>wide web access you can get their latest test results at
KW>ftp://agn-www.informatik.uni-hamburg.de/pub/texts/tests/pc-av/1998-02/)
I'll demand at a friend to go there and got me some pages. Thanks.
KW> AG> How about the famous Cascade, the first one ? It doesn't
KW> AG> replicate, but is recognized as a "virus" by any anti-virus
KW> AG> software...
KW>time to check your facts... cascade replicates... by definition all
KW>viruses must replicate...
Ha. I never see Cascade to replicate by myself. Fine.
KW>that last one "nothing to do about viruses" doesn't parse well in
KW>english... what were you trying to ask with that?
I don't really know, I just can't see where I put that sentence in
my post.
Thanks for the description for viruses, trojans, and others trapping
software.
