Paul,
I know that mainframes are not PC desktop-type computers intended for
individual users. I guess your point in the whole discussion has been
the marvelous advances in technology and how they can be used to improve
education. As such, you have not been particularly attentive to accurate
use of vocabulary. This is what confused me.
I agree that there are incredible advances in computers, that astound me
as well, and I hope that education and educators will find good ways to
improve what we do by availing ourselves of this technology.
