subject: Nodes or member of the FIDONET

Hello Vladimir.

15 Oct 04 12:06, you wrote to me:

I understand language problems ... do tell me when you need clarification.

VD|> "Hub" or "host" are agree transfer mail to
another FIDO nodes, but (at
VD|> common) not agree transfer mail to non-FIDO systems! So letters to
VD|> points or Internet or BBS users transfer only his system (gate or
VD|> BBS), and FIDO hubs realize only FIDO-part transport to this users.

A Fido Hub or Host need only transfer mail to other Fido nodes. Mail to
points is delivered to the boss node.

Mail for the Internet should be handled either by the node himself or via a
gateway node that has agreed to do so.

BBS users that are members of the BBS system that is a Fido node are,
allowed to send NetMail and participate in Fido echoes. Whether they can
send NetMail, is determined by the Sysop of the BBS.

VD|> I wrote about "must node transfer mail or no", assume
that "node" is
VD|> "cross of links". Is this translate incorrect? If yes -
explain term
VD|> "node" to me, please!

No. A node is any person/system that has been given a FidoNet node number.
A node can be a single system like my hub2000 (1L229/2000) system. It
sole purpose if for distributing mail to other FidoNet members (nodes) and
for me, personally, to type messages. I have another Fido node number
(1:229/440) that is for the BBS and its users.

Does this help at all? :)

Robert
